1. Who is responsible
FairyTakes makes the films and is the seller. We decide how your information is used, which makes us the “controller” under European law. For anything on this page, write to fairy@fairytakes.co.
2. What we collect

We do not collect voice recordings, precise location, contact lists, or information from social networks.
3. Why we use it
- To make and deliver your film. This is the contract you ask us to perform.
- To draw a person’s likeness from their photo. We do this only with the permission you confirm at checkout: your own, the person’s, or yours as the parent or guardian of a child. You can withdraw it at any time, which stops the order if the film is not yet made.
- To send you emails about your order. Sign-in links, “your cast is ready”, “your film is ready”. We send no marketing unless you ask for it.
- To keep the service safe. Preventing fraud and abuse, and keeping a record of what was agreed. This is our legitimate interest and, for payment records, a legal duty.
We do not use your information for advertising or for profiling, and we do not sell it.
4. Who receives it
We use a small number of specialist companies to run the service. Each receives only what it needs and acts on our instructions under a written contract. We describe them here by what they do and where they keep data; we name any of them to you on request.

Where a provider is outside the European Economic Area, the transfer rests on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example to report illegal content. If the business is ever sold, your information would pass to the new owner under this same policy, and we would tell you first.
5. AI and your photos
We do not train any AI model on your photos, your films or your answers. The studio that draws the character processes the photo under business terms which state that data sent through its service is not used to train its models. It may keep content for a limited time to detect abuse. The company that generates the film receives only the cartoon drawings, not the photo.
6. Transfers to other countries
Some of the providers above are outside the country where you live, including in the United States and in Asia-Pacific. Those transfers rely on the safeguards in the providers’ data processing terms, such as standard contractual clauses where they apply. Your photos, films and account are stored in the European Union.
7. How long we keep it

8. Cookies and browser storage
We set only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. While you fill in the order form, your answers are saved in your own browser so you do not lose them. We use no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.
9. Security
Photos and films are kept in private storage and can be opened only through links that expire, by the signed-in owner of the order. Access to customer data inside FairyTakes is limited to the people who run the service. Connections are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
10. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the information we hold about you or the person in your film;
- correct it;
- delete it, including the photo, the character, the film, or your whole account;
- give you a copy you can take elsewhere;
- stop using it, or withdraw a permission you gave.
Write to fairy@fairytakes.co from the email address of your account. We answer within 30 days and never charge for this. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
If you live in the United States. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. The rights above apply to you whichever state you live in.
11. Children
FairyTakes is used by adults. Many films star a child, and a child’s photo and first name are given to us only by their parent or guardian. The Children’s data page explains exactly what we do with them.
12. Changes
If we change how we use your information, we update this page and its version number. For a change that matters, such as a new provider that receives photos, we email you before it takes effect.
